Asus has conquered the world with ROG community techs and gadgets. One of its fascinating gadgets is the ROG phone. Asus has launched it’s hyped gaming smartphone of the year 2020 which people were eagerly waiting since last month i.e. Asus ROG 3. ROG phones always exceed in the community of gaming with top specs. Design
The new gen ROG comes with small and unique box packaging with all time flashy ROG theme going all around the box divided into two parts, one holding the phone and other holding the accessories.
ROG phones have aggressive look since it’s first product launch with ROG 1. It maintained its aggressiveness till last yer with ROG 2. As it seems sleeker and flagships have affected this year’s ROG phone diminishing those aggressive looks. ROG 3 has now respectively better glossy finish than last year and resembles One Plus with some extra fashion points. It maintains that RGB glowing logo on the back with in-built customization.
This new model has not become sleeker than previous generations yet it has camera bump on it’s back which might be annoying for some people. It comes with a protective case (hard plastic) designed by ASUS for better griping and also solves camera bump issue. With its all aluminum body and glass back it surely leaves an impression of premium smartphones. ROG 3 has now lost its cross-cut buttons for power and volume rockers instead it’s now standard round buttons.
The screen on this phone hasn’t respectively changed as it remains those bezels with rounded corners. It still uses old gen 19.5 ratio screen which might not be a problem because the bezels are evenly matched on top and bottom so it provides a feeling of bezel less phone. The flashy lines on the back are now replaced with only one massive ROG logo and sparkling texture on one edge.
Accessories
- Charger – This phones comes with 30 W hyper charger out of the box. It now has a braided charging cable for longer life.
- Cooling Fan – The standard cooling fan is included in the box just as the last year.
- USB-C to 3.5 mm – Sorry to say but there is no headphone jack so it has compensated with type c converter if you have wired headset.
- Case – The year’s bumper case is similar to last year’s ROG 2 with different cut-outs designed by ASUS for better grip and cooling.
Major Changes
ROG 3 on the outside may seem like a decent phone with no heavenly looks on the outside but it surely surprises on what the company has done on the inside. ROG 3 is the ex-machina of the gaming mobile industry with a look that can easily fool people with natural flagship like exterior design. So let’s list some major changes in this gen ROG phone other than the simple look it provides.
- Chipset – ROG 3 comes with all new powerful 865+ with in built 5G capability and powerful Adreno 650 GPU.
- Storage – This year’s phone comes with ultra-fast UFS 3.1 storage for greater write and read speeds.
- RAM/ROM – Basic version comes with 12 GB of RAM out of the box with 16 GB of RAM on the highest one. It has a starting of 128 GB of internal storage and goes upto 512 GB. You do not have to worry about storage now.
- Camera – Camera on gaming smartphones have been bummer for most of us as they capture mediocre photos with lesser quality than what it should be regarding its price. New ROG 3 has improved camera quality and can shoot 8K at 30fps. This new camera has a lot of details in picture such sharpness, good zoom, software improvements for a better camera experience. All in all it’s a good camera.
- Display – It now has 144 Hz display which is highest in the market and can take advantages of games like PUBG, COD:Mobile, Fortnite etc.
- Heat Sink – It has upgraded it’s cooling which is now 6X cooler than previous gen.
- Cooling fan – The new fan can now cool 40 cooler than previous gen.
- Battery – Now it comes with 6000 mAh battery which is needed for longer battery sessions. It can reverse-charge other devices like a power bank.
- Capacitive Buttons – Ultrasonic capacitive shoulder buttons are on the sides of the phone. They can be used as triggers in games and macros for other functionalities.
- Gaming Mode – The new gaming mode has a lot more functionalities. You can now set up on-screen macro buttons for different things such screenshot while playing games or even record last 30 sec of your game play. It provides flexibility such as side bar for google search while playing games and lot more.
Asus ROG 3 has surely kept its promise in delivering a powerful device that can run longer, has good looks, better performance and a brand that connects all gamers to the ROG community in the palm of their hands.
